PT Gearindo Prakarsa Drives Offshore Campaign 1 for PETRONAS Bukit Tua Infill Well Project
KETAPANG PSC, EAST JAVA – Reinforcing its reputation as an agile and dependable engineering partner in Indonesia’s upstream energy sector, PT Gearindo Prakarsa has achieved major milestones in the execution of the provision of services for the Bukit Tua BTJTB-T7/NZ3 Infill Well Tie-In Project. Operating under PETRONAS as the facility owner, the PT Gearindo offshore team has successfully navigated both Pre-Shutdown and Shutdown scopes of Campaign 1 with exceptional technical precision, discipline, and an uncompromising safety culture.
The offshore operations commenced on September 10, 2026, launching the Pre-Shutdown phase with heavy mechanical lifts, including positioning two Motor Operated Valve (MOV) units onto the Cellar Deck, pulling dedicated power cables, and coordinating offshore logistics with material container transfers. Over the subsequent days, the team carried out essential structural and preparatory modifications. Despite adverse offshore weather conditions on September 13, the crew attained 100% completion on key work packages, lifting critical piping spools into close installation, terminating power cables to the MCB at panel DB-772I in the Electrical & Instrument (EI) Room, and pulling the MOV permissive cable from PMCS to SIS.
Transitioning seamlessly into the Shutdown phase between September 15 and September 23, the multidisciplinary crew performed complex system integrations. Specialized instrument and electrical technicians executed identification, continuity testing, and terminations across the SIS and PMCS marshalling cabinets.
The execution peaked on September 22–23 with the definitive installation and torque tightening of both MOV units, the Instrument Air spool, and the Gaslift In-situ spool, finalized by successful cross-wiring pulls and comprehensive service testing prior to crew demobilization.
