Enhancing Operational Reliability At PERTAMINA PHE-WMO ORF (Onshore Receiving Facility)

PT Gearindo Prakarsa is pleased to highlight our ongoing technical partnership with PERTAMINA PHE-WMO through the Refurbishment and Repainting of Piping Pressure Systems. This project, located at the Onshore Receiving Facility (ORF), represents a vital component of our client’s asset integrity management strategy.

Strategic Background and Joint Assessment

The project was initiated following technical findings by the PHE-WMO integrity team, which identified coating degradation and localized corrosion within the ORF piping systems. To ensure a precise and effective restoration, PT Gearindo Prakarsa and PERTAMINA PHE-WMO conducted a comprehensive joint survey to map out the exact scope, total surface area, and specific work locations requiring refurbishment.

Technical Excellence in Corrosion Control

Our approach to this project focuses on durability and strict adherence to international industrial standards. The work scope involves a meticulous three-stage coating application designed to withstand demanding onshore conditions:

  • Surface Preparation: We utilize high-performance pneumatic power tools to achieve an ISO 8501 St 3 cleanliness standard, ensuring an optimal profile for coating adhesion.
  • Primer Coat (75 Microns): The foundational layer provides essential corrosion inhibition and bonding.
  • Second Coat (250 Microns): A high-build intermediate layer that serves as the primary barrier against environmental elements.
  • Top Coat (50 Microns): The final layer provides UV resistance and aesthetic finishing to the pressure system.

Resource Mobilization and Safety

Commenced on October 30, 2025, the project remains ongoing with a full suite of professional equipment mobilized to the site. Our team utilizes 185 CFM compressors, specialized scaffolding sets for safe access to elevated piping, and various pneumatic painting tools to ensure a high-quality application.

Through this project, PT Gearindo Prakarsa continues to demonstrate its capability in delivering high-standard maintenance services that protect critical energy infrastructure and extend the service life of industrial assets.
